Where: People’s Liberty
When: Tuesday June 6th from 5-8pm
Join 2016 Project Grantee Jasmine Humphries for a happy hour and refreshments, tours of PL, introduction to VIBE, and to game plan for the evening.
What is VIBE?
VIBE is starting a podcast/radio show and we need help to make it happen! Young people will be working on everything including graphics, music, journalism, and video production. This is strategically leadership development, not just a participatory experience for young people. This will be a year-round production with the planning period beginning in June 2017 and open applications in Aug 2017.
Who should come?
Anyone who think this sounds cool and/or wants to share their experience, specifically people who know a little or a lot about the following:
Built Environment professionals
Civic leaders and built environment professionals who work in the fields of construction, real estate, architecture, etc. We need their input on topics.
Graphic Arts & Design
Help guide a group through the process of producing branding graphics for the show and tips to strengthen their skills as young artists. I.e (logo, letterhead, marquee, promo materials, publication layout)
Music (audio engineering & songwriting)
Professionals and hobbyists who know musics and creative writing. We Need help creating the theme song(s) and jingles/transition music in between segments. Help some youth develop skills as writers and music creators.
Because some of our topics are controversial, it’s even more critical that the information is presented objectively. Teach our youth how to research, use the journalistic method, learn show formats, and interview guests and community members.
Know video production? Help some young folks learn how to film and edit content for the show.
