Why did the chicken cross the road? To get a Good Egg, of course. Join us in saying 'farewell' to "Good Eggs," brainchild of local artist/designer/musician Jason Snell. As our first Globe Grant recipient, Jason had the opportunity to transform our storefront gallery with an exhibit of his own. Good Eggs consisted of a variety of coin-operated machines that dispensed plastic eggs filled with good deeds that encouraged civic-mindedness. The deeds ranged anywhere from smiling at a stranger to making a charitable donation. Gallery-goers young and old were delighted and inspired by these brightly colored eggs. Thank you so much to all of our participants and do-gooders out there who were a part of the "egg-citement!" (Okay...that's the last egg joke...we promise).
Have ideas of your own? Apply to transform our 800 sq.ft. gallery space with a bold, provocative installation in 2016. Globe Grants are $15,000 awards given directly to individuals. An independent panel selects three winners annually. People’s Liberty provides installation assistance, basic tools, lighting, technical equipment and administrative support as needed. Check out peoplesliberty.org/apply to download a Grant Guide, schedule a one-on-one with PL staff, or sign-up for training sessions. Got ideas? Good. We look forward to hearing from you.
